This is a typical “you-get-what-you-pay-for” item. Looks good from a distance but a little rough upon closer inspection. Holes were not neatly aligned so you may need a hammer to force the bolts in during assembly. The hardware is decent quality and appears as though it should wear well. Once assembled, the stand was strong and I have no concerns that it won’t perform as expected for years. But if you’re expecting the construction and quality to match the made-in-America versions you can buy for twice the price, you’ll be disappointed.

My only mistake was assuming a universal hammock length. This stand is 13 1/2 feet long and the hammock I bought is 13 feet long, so there’s about 2″ of bottom clearance when I’m on the hammock. It won’t be long before I have to re-tie the knots on the hammock to shorten its length.

This was delivered quickly and looks like the much more expensive models available on the web. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Easy to assemble, but requires two people.

My experience was near exact to the other reviewer-ripped up box, misaligned and slightly twisted wood, minor damage. Additionally, the ‘stain’ was wet and tacky when it arrived. I cannot ‘vouch’ that the wood is cypress. The Unit requires a large space to contain it and winter storage may be an issue. The worst issue I have with it is the hammock sits low to the ground and with my ‘achy’ back getting in and out of it is a ‘pain’. Not recommended for older persons or ‘the overweight’. Beware the hassle of sending this back, It isn’t worth ordering it unless you are certain you really want it. Don’t be fooled by the ‘discount’ price. I would have sent it back, but didn’t want to pay additional $75 for shipping and whatever it would have cost in time and material to find & get a new box. It will be the ‘yard sale for this ‘Jewell’.

This came in a box, needing to be put together. The box was very heavy, the cardboard was all torn up and the one end pretty much didn’t exist. The wood is so heavy that a carboard box, if not handled correctly by UPS falls apart. The wood at the end was damaged. Not too bad though. Going to call and notify them, but not going to hassel with sending back if that’s the remedy. The wood is treated with something/stain, hopefully weather proofing. The term Solid is a bit misleading as the beams are not actually one piece but several glued/pressed together. Easy set up. Holes were not drilled perfectly so one end does not align perfectly making the wood on beam on end not parallel to the others on the base connection. It is heavy and seems solid. I hope it lasts as it is enjoyable so far even though minor problems. Have a double quilted hammock witch fits perfect. All and all pretty good deal compared to other stand prices I have seen.
